Pegasystems Launches BPM 6.2

ORLANDO, Fla. (PegaWORLD 2011) — Pegasystems announced this week the latest version of BPM software at its PegaWORLD 2011 user conference here. Pega BPM 6.2 will enable business users to leverage advanced analytics to predict customer needs and optimize customer-facing processes.

Pega BPM 6.2 will offer:

  • unified predictive decision support that uses advanced business analytics to help guide intelligent conversations with customers for retention, cross-sell/up-sell, and risk management;
  • new thin-client modeling options that let users build complete process models in Visio or on the Web, along with enhanced tools to handle advanced UI, integration, and business events; and
  • business event driven interactions, enabling business users to define and trigger time or pattern-driven changes to forms, reports, or cases.

"Our key focus has been to make Pega BPM smarter, faster and easier for our clients," says Kerim Akgonul, vice president of product management at Pegasystems. "This latest version brings our industry-leading capabilities in a single, unified environment so that organizations don't face the traditional software pitfalls of multiple points of integration, multiple testing environments, or multiple tools for governance, risk, or compliance."

According to Akgonul, Pegasystem's cloud and on-premise solutions enable customers to accelerate time-to-value with a broad range of functionality that provides significant cost savings and minimizes the burden of IT organizations having to incur costly upgrades or endure labor-intensive custom programming to meet the pressing needs of the business. "Pega is delivering a new model for enterprise applications that meet the needs to today’s global businesses," he says.

The idea to go cross channel was largely inspired by Pegasystem's user feedback. "We’re in continual contact with our customers trying to really understand what they need," says Alan Trefler, founder and CEO of Pegasystems. "We're really fortunate in that our customers seem to be real thought leaders."

"We get a lot of great customer feedback," adds Steve Kraus, senior director of product management at Pegasystems. "It's really all about making productivity easer for them. We were inspired to guide end users through every interaction they have with every customer and do it cross channel."

Trefler says customers can expect "very powerful and predictive analytics and capabilities" with the update. "Really being able to drive every step of the conversation with the client around the personal history of that customer," he explains. "This is really the next step to customer centricity."
