Commerce Launches the Social Buy Now Platform

Commerce has launched the Social Buy Now platform, which can connect brands' online stores with Buy Now buttons in social environments. Brands can link their online stores to Commerce-powered Buy Now buttons in social posts to sell products directly to customers without needing to switch e-commerce or payment gateway providers.

"Empowering brands to sell products directly from their online stores in social posts is the future of retail," said Commerce founder John Wantz in a statement. "We're excited to be leading the transformation from desktop selling to true omnichannel sales through social, mobile, and marketplaces."

Commerce has built a partner ecosystem that includes more than 250,000 merchants, e-commerce platform providers, and payment gateway providers. The list includes Twitter, Amazon, Facebook, Stripe, Authorize.net, Braintree, PayPal, TSYS, Capital One, First Data, Chase Paymentech, Shopify, Magento, Demandware, Oracle Commerce, IBM WebSphere , SAP (Hybris), Bigcommerce, WooCommerce, Best Buy, and Obey Clothing.

This ecosystem is integrated through a family of Commerce APIs.

"For the consumer, the BUY NOW experience is a simple click within a social post," said Wantz. "The heavy lifting is orchestrated behind the scenes for the merchant, and the APIs are very simple to deploy."
